Mechanical Testing & Analysis
New Hampshire Chemical Analysis is more than "chemical." We also perform a variety of tests that include the mechanical properties across all classes. Metal, plastic, wood, fiber, composite and total assemblies combined to make a single product and each has unique properties that may be measured, tested and analyzed for performance or failure attributes.
Mechanical testing reveals the true mechanical properties of the material or assembly. Whether it's a compression test on a plastic housing, an adhesion test of a laminate assembly or a hardness test on a gun barrel, these tests are real data, not calculated values. Mechanical testing is the first step in putting a critical design into practice. Testing is performed to ASTM standards or to specified customer procedures.
Applications of Mechanical Testing Techniques:
- Failure analysis
- QA certification
- Verification of certificates
- Weld process/procedure qualification
- New product testing
- Tension: yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and elongation
- Compression
- Bend tests
- Shear strength
- Peel / tear strength
- Flexural strength & modulus
- Insertion / withdraw force
